System 10 LCR
When most companies design in-wall speakers their priorities usually start with speakers being unobtrusive and easy to mount. Sound quality is generally far back in importance. But since we're obsessed with accurate sound, we spent months adapting components from our award winning System 270 and 370 System to create a system that is heart of a music and cinema sound system that's amazingly lifelike and yet disappears into the decor of your home.
Using no compromise components is the only the first part of the job. There are special considerations that must be addressed when designing in-wall speakers. Whereas box speakers can be moved away from the negative influences walls have on sound, in-wall speakers obviously can't. So our design process involved many more hours of computer design, testing, and listening sessions to develop ways of compensating for the surrounding wall's effect on the sound. One listen to the System 10 compared to other in-walls will prove the success of our efforts.
Developed for use with our highly regarded System 10 LCR, System 10e SR is also tonally matched to several Atlantic systems, including the System 170 and 270 THX. Its advanced drivers and sophisticated crossover networks deliver realistic and believable surround, no matter what the source.
Technical Highlights
The System 10e SR incorporates two 4.5 inch injected molded graphite woofers and two .75 inch neodymium tweeters, in angled flush mount in-wall baffle. These two sets of high quality drivers produce a broad, even response pattern. The reflective surfaces of the baffle are lined with special acoustic foam to reduce unwanted scattering of the sound. The crossover network is designed and uses top quality components, including air core chokes and low DA capacitors.
Get lost!
The goal of home theater is to "get you lost" in the movie, not to place you in the movie theater. And the surround speakers are critical to creating this virtual environment. We believe Dipole surrounds work best because they produce a diffuse and believable soundfield. We're also aware that some people prefer direct radiating surround speakers. Consult with your installation expert, and then choose between our in-wall/on-wall recessable Frequency Enhanced Dipole surrounds or you may use the System 10 speaker "all 'round".
Whether used in pairs for fine music reproduction or in a multichannel system, the Atlantic Technology System 10 speaker delivers the accurate, low distortion sound necessary for reproducing today's latest digital sources. Yet once it's installed it's really no more obtrusive than a light switch. Enjoy!
System 5 LCR
Some 13 years ago Atlantic Technology was instrumental in bringing about the Home Theater/Surround Sound revolution. Among our innovations are the first affordable THX certified surround sound system, the first three-way THX LCR speaker systems, the first horizontally configured THX certified center channel, and more.
Today, making 6 or more high-performance speakers in a room visually acceptable drives much of home entertainment. Hence the meteoric rise of in-wall and in-ceiling speakers. Our own award winning System 20 THX and System 10 have proven, in no uncertain terms, the desirability and popularity of high quality minimally intrusive speakers. Now we're proud to introduce our most affordable InWall package, the System 5.
These dynamic direct sound speakers use advanced computer modeling to deliver exceptional performance from a compact flush mount design. The System 5 incorporates a 6.5" Injection Molded Graphite loaded driver cone for accurate midrange/bass reproduction with minimal distortion. A 1-inch "eyeball" tweeter mount lets you precisely aim the high frequency driver for optimum coverage. A front mounted High Frequency Level control allows precise adjustment of the speaker's sound in any room. Our renowned silk dome fluid cooled tweeter and computer optimized steep slope crossover completes the package. We've also incorporated a "knock out" panel for an infrared sensor, providing the ultimate in flexibility and control.
